In heraldry, the melding of lion and eagle imparts both courage and boldness to the Griffin, it denotes vigilance, strength and leadership as well. An original sculpture by our friend Ernie Chase, this snapping turtle, a favourite of his, we now cast in our aged stone. Rarely seen in the wild, each one brings delight when we encounter them in nature and hope that the same is true when you encounter this character in your garden.

Named after Barbara and Robin’s pet pig, this cast Yorkshire specimen has been dubbed Sir Francis Bacon. The real one lived in Barbara and Robin’s family home for almost a month before being loosed upon the land to forage for local truffles. Having found absolutely none he was then able to truly earn his name.
A perennial favourite throughout Great Britain, hedge hogs are deemed to be a breath of fresh air and a welcome visitor in country settings. We hope you love this new addition to the family of creatures at Campo.
